I set out to rejuvinate my art interests in 2009, when physical set backs limited much of my other activity. My passion for art has carried through in the past as an illustrator and photographer. Due to physical limitations I found a happy medium in pastels, a medium I could work spontaneously yet allow me to walk away from a project with no repercussions. I have focused on subject matter not only familiar to me, but feeling a close relationship to, that being wildlife, landscape while occasionally dabbling in portraiture. Hoo Gives a Hoot

My fascination with painting owls began in November of 2013. These mysterious birds I found to be a challenge to paint with their complex color patterns and "owly" expressions. My interest increased even more so when I discovered my first Snowy Owls in February of 2014. The Snowy Owls immediately became one of my most favorite of the larger birds and I expect will be portrayed more than any other bird in my gallery. Many Native American tribes believed the owl was an omen of good fortune or the bringer of good fortune.
